Christianity and theology has been in regular paradigm change. Over the past few years, elementary Christian doctrine has been tainted by a never-ending assault of extra-scriptural beliefs and opinion. This has resulted into the current state where there is a wide collection of theological belief about the scriptures, some of the opinions defend their authority while others not only discard the scriptural authority deny the very existence of God (Carter, 2000). Accessibility to information and the impact of technology on all areas of our lives has made it possible to carry out research and transfer of new knowledge beyond borders. Contemporary theology though thought to be a modern aspect started off way back in the 14th through to the 17^th centuries. Enns in his studies suggests that this is the period of “new birth”, this is the period where emphasis was laid on glorifying the world and man rather than giving God the glory. Under the contemporary theology, Gods word and authority is replaced by human reason with explanations coming from science and philosophy. The fact that it rejects the existence of God has however put it at odds with the traditional Christians who find them odd and lost as they do not have a spiritual head to follow. Some of the contemporary theology methods include radical theology and liberal theology (Mattes, 2004). Some of the contemporary Theological methods include; liberal theology and radical theology. Radical theology is made up of proponents who have very diverse and strong opposition to God and are mostly led by individuals who come up with ideologies and implant them on their congregants. They include the God is dead mysticism which is attributed to Friedrich Nietzsche that claim that though God created the universe, he annihilated himself through the cycles of creation and destruction and as a result of this man should learn to live without God.

On my opinion, the next major issues the contemporary church may have to handle are issues of homosexuality and abortion. Homosexuality is currently perceived as an alternative way of life and the murder of unborn souls as being “pro-choice.” The importance and dignity of life has been all but reduced by the moderate world view, and this twenty first century paradigm shift has been acknowledged by most main-line believers of the Christian faith (Enns, 2004). The fact that many that profess faith are not as strict in practicing the ills in the society as the traditional Christians did, this will with time corrupt the morals of the church as some issues like abortion and homosexuality are not allowed in the bible and should not be condoned by any church or religious institution that uses the bible and believes in God. The problem is with the leadership that is so much driven by prosperity and their major concern being their ability to bring in anyone if possible everyone. In the bible Christ was not accepted by everyone and did not allow sin within his cycle and with that kind of lifestyle lost favor with many a fact that modern churches do not embrace (Marthaler 2007). Double standard practice of religion should not be accepted in any theological institution even though ideological differences should be entertained to enable critical research on the word of God. The use of the bible should also be used to the full and not partially as mostly done with the leaders and with this evil be termed as evil and good as good.
