Integrated care delivery system (ICDS) is a health care initiative meant to alleviate the problem of cost of pharmaceuticals among the aging population. The government has had to instigate various regulations to ensure that ICDS is effectively applied. Generally, regulations are critical to the effective operation of healthcare. As such, healthcare regulations ensure that all undertakings are compliant with laws and regulations (Knoepfler, 2015). Therefore, this essay explores the current healthcare regulations that are instigated to facilitate implementation of the Integrated Care Delivery System in the U.S.

Unlike other developed countries, the Unites States health care system is unique since it lacks central governing bodies. Apart from that, universal healthcare provision is also lacking in the U.S health care delivery making the whole system lacking in uniformity (Ben, Artie, & Peter, 2017). Following numerous health care problems such as the rising cost of pharmaceuticals among the aging population, the U.S. government has enacted a number of regulations towards improving the operations of initiatives instigated to mitigate such healthcare challenges. However, some regulations have been implemented partially while others remain totally unimplemented. Since the health care system in the U.S. operates through various sectors, it is difficult to fully implement such polies at the same time across the country (Ben, Artie, & Peter, 2017). The real problem is lack of universal regulations to facilitate the implementation of an integrated health care system for the aging population across the U.S. It is also challenging to properly manage the financial expenditure for the integrated healthcare system.
